Basic Properties
Appearance: colourless or light yellow liquid at room temperature, slightly phenolic odour.
Solubility: insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as ac etone, ethan ol, trichlorom etha ne.
Physical properties: freezing point 1ºC, boiling point 298~303ºC, relative density 0.953 (20ºC).NP is quite stable at room temperature, not easily oxidised, and does not corrode carbon steel, copper, zinc, aluminium and other metals.
